General Information
The unique landscape surrounding Brunnen (pop. 7,200) by the lake with the snowcapped mountains and the lush green valley leading to the Mythen (1898 and 1,811 meters) formed together with the historic cantonal capital of Schwyz and the alpine resort of Morschach an attraction that was known all over Europe. The central location of the area offers adventurous visitors a wide range of excursions and walks. Walkers are rewarded by the magnificent views from Mount Rigi, Mythen or Stoss. The entire holiday region has a varied entertainment program to suit every guest: open-air concerts, folklore shows, classical music, tennis tournaments, local customs as well as a holiday program with tours and excursions.
Brunnen and the "Schwyzerland" region profit of a very mild climate due to the natural microclimate regulation of the lake and the surrounding hills and mountains which give the region protection. Brunnen is located in central Switzerland, in the Canton of Schwyz on the shores of Lake Lucerne and its deep green-blue waters. Brunnen can be reached from Zurich on national Motorway A4, from Bern and Basel via Lucerne on A2 or on the "Seeroute" via Kuessnacht a. Rigi. It can also be reached by train & ship via Lucerne. Places to visit
Most places of interest in the region can be reached by ship on Lake Lucerne. Not only are the ships a reliable means of transport but they also give you the possibility to enjoy the wonderful view on the surrounding mountains on deck in a quiet, romantic and relaxing ambiance.
