Swiss Quality Hotels and its partners (hereinafter collectively referred to as ‘SQH’) hereby undertake to maintain the confidentiality of all personal details that you may provide whilst using this website. These data protection guidelines provide information about the way in which your personal details are handled when you visit our website. We may provide content or services from other websites, including those of our partners or websites bearing our trade mark, through links on our website. These other websites are not subject to these data protection guidelines. We advise you to check each of said websites to find out how your details are protected on each one. If you have any questions, comments or doubts in connection with these data protection guidelines, please contact our customer service department at info(at)sqh.ch. We reserve the right to modify the data protection guidelines from time to time. Any changes will be announced here, so please check back every now and then. The guidelines were last modified in April 2018.
1. Personal details
We collect, store and use the personal details that you provide by means of our inquiry and booking forms on this website. In addition we collect data as follows: – When you make a booking or a purchase through this website or through our customer service team – by email, letter, fax or telephone; – When you register with us, subscribe to our catalogue, take part in a competition or register during advertising campaigns; – When you take part in surveys or provide feedback. You may modify your personal details at any time through your user account on this website. You created your user account when you made your first booking. If you have forgotten your username and/or password, please contact us at info(at)sqh.ch.
2. Use of personal details
We process and use the personal details that you provide on this website to handle your inquiries, bookings and purchases, to offer tailor-made services based on your requests and preferences, to perform administrative tasks and internal analyses, to carry out opinion polls and to provide you with information about the products and services of selected third parties which might be of interest to you. If you do not want us to use your personal details to inform you of other products and services provided by SQH or selected third parties, please inform us at info(at)sqh.ch. Please note that we are unable to guarantee confidentiality for communication via email or any other electronic means.
3. Disclosure of your personal details
We do not sell the personal details that you provide through this page. We do not disclose your details to any third party except when required for handling bookings, purchases or inquiries which you have requested through this website or through our customer service team or for any other reason, or when the data needs to be processed on our instructions by third parties (suppliers) that we have employed or sent to those persons with whom you have made a booking through this website. However, we may pass on your details to third parties and professional advisers who shall operate on our instructions and shall undertake to maintain confidentiality. In addition, we may disclose your personal details if requested to do so under applicable law or orders. We shall do our utmost to ensure that all selected third parties to whom we may disclose your details use the same strictly in accordance with these data protection guidelines.

Swiss Quality Hotels Genossenschaft (SQHI) takes the protection of your personal data very seriously and strictly complies with all valid data protection laws and requirements, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable. The following provides information about the collection and use of personal data in the case of using our website. You can view this policy at any time on our website.

1. DATA CONTROLLER RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROCESSING
1.1 The service provider and party responsible within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation is Swiss Quality Hotels Genossenschaft, Spittelstrasse 4, CH-8712 Stäfa.
2. YOUR RIGHTS
2.1 You are entitled to request, at any time, that we provide details of the data we have stored about you and about the origin, recipients or categories of recipients to whom such data are forwarded and the purpose of the storing.
2.2 You are entitled to request that we rectify without delay inaccurate data that applies to you or restrict the processing of such data. With consideration given to the processing purposes, in addition you are entitled to request the completion of incomplete personal data — including by way of a supplementary statement.
2.3 You are entitled to request that we immediately delete the personal data that applies to you. Among other things, we undertake to delete such data if they are no longer required for the purposes for which they were collected or were otherwise processed, or if you have withdrawn your consent.
2.4 You are entitled to receive the personal data that apply to you, which you made available to us, in a structured, conventional and machine-readable format. You are also entitled to forward such data to another controller without restrictions provided the processing is based on your consent or the processing is supported by an automatic procedure.
2.5 If you have granted consent to the use of data, you may withdraw such consent at any time.
2.6 If we process your personal data on the basis of justified interests, you may object to such processing.

2.8 In the event of data protection law violations, you are entitled to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority.
3. DATA SECURITY
We use technical and organisational security measures to protect your data, which we administer, from random or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons. Your data are encrypted when forwarded. The used encryption protocol is TLS 1.2.
4. COLLECTING PERSONAL DATA IN THE CASE OF USE AS INFORMATION, COOKIES
4.1 In the case of merely using the website as a source of information, i.e. if you do not establish contact with us beyond purely using the website or otherwise do not forward information to us, we collect use data that your browser automatically forwards to enable you to visit the website. The storage is intended exclusively for system-related and statistical purposes (based on Article 6(1) Letter b) GDPR) and in exceptional cases to bring legal action in respect of criminal offences (based on Article 6(1) Letter e) GDPR).

4.3 Furthermore, in the case of using the website, Cookies are used on your computer as described below. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard drive and allocated to the browser you use. Cookies enable the organisation that places the Cookie (in this case us) to receive certain information. Cookies do not cause any damage on your computer, and do not contain any viruses. By way of Cookies installed on a permanent basis, you can be automatically logged into our website (if you select Remember Password). Cookies are only set following your consent and on the basis of Article 6(1) Letter A GDPR.
4.4 You can configure your browser settings in line with your requirements, and for example reject the acceptance of Cookies. However, we draw to your attention the fact that as a result under certain circumstances you may not be able to use all functions of the website.

5. COLLECTING AND PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA IN THE CASE OF ESTABLISHING CONTACT AND FOR ADVERTISING PURPOSES
5.1 Personal data (including for example your name, telephone number and your e-mail address) are collected and processed in the event that you expressly forward such data to us to establish contact with us by using our contact form. Your personal data are used exclusively for the purpose of processing your enquiries and on the basis of Article 6(1) Letter f GDPR.
5.2 Such data are only used for advertising purposes on condition that you have previously granted consent in that respect and on the basis of Article 6(1) Letter a GDPR. We store the data you have forwarded to us to receive the Newsletter up until you are removed from the Newsletter subscription list. Such data are deleted once the Newsletter has been cancelled.
6. COLLECTING AND PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA IN THE CASE OF ORDERS, OPENING A CUSTOMER ACCOUNT, USE FOR DIRECT MARKETING
6.1 Personal data are collected on the basis of Article 6(1) Letter b GDPR if you make such data available to us to execute a contract (e.g. a booking or a booking enquiry) or in the case of opening a customer account. Without your consent such data shall be used exclusively to execute contracts and process your enquires. Once a contract has been executed and payment has been made in full, your data shall be stored with consideration given to tax and commercial law storage periods, and deleted following expiry of these periods.
7. COLLECTING AND PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA IN THE CASE OF APPLICATIONS
In addition, we collect personal data if you file an application with us. We only need to process such personal data to conduct the application process, including putting in place an electronic application file, the administration of your application and the organisation of job interviews – in brief the processing is conditional on entering into an employment contract with you. Such data are processed on the basis of Article 6(1) Letter b GDPR.
8. RECIPIENTS/CATEGORIES OF RECIPIENTS OF PERSONAL DATA, THIRD COUNTRY DATA TRANSFERS, JUSTIFIED INTERESTS THAT WE MAY PURSUE IN THIS RESPECT
8.1 Your Personal data shall not be forwarded to third parties. This does not apply to service providers we have commissioned to process data to an extent set out in this Data Protection Policy, e.g. as part of processing bookings and the technical infrastructure of the website.
8.2 To process payments we forward the payment data required in this respect to the banking institution commissioned to make the payment and, where applicable, payment service providers we have commissioned or we forward such data to the payment service you selected in the order process.

9. PERIOD IN WHICH THE PERSONAL DATA ARE STORED
If your data are no longer required, such data shall be deleted following expiry of the tax and commercial law storage periods (these may be up to 10 years in the case of invoices).
